About Planet Studios Perth and Sydney

Planet Studios was all but lost in a fire back in 2004, resulting in the loss of virtually all of our equipment.

The business subsequently evolved into a film and video transfer facility offering transfers and restoration services of all formats of film (8mm, super 8 and 16mm) as well as video tapes (VHS, miniDV, hi8, digital 8 etc), audio (tapes and records) as well as images including slides, negatives and photos.

 We have had a few past clients contact us looking for copies of their original recordings. Unfortunately, everything was destroyed and we ended up with nothing. We have always given artists the original master of their recording and it's been up to them to store their master copy for future posterity. As you can see from our website, our suite of services is quite different these days.

After the fire in 2004 we took the decision to utilise much of our equipment (mainly duplication related) and merged with a local CD and DVD duplication business called Billy Bob Burner. This eventually led to the formation of a new business called WA Duplication in 2005. This move resulting in rapid expansion into the film, video, audio and slide transfer market, with considerable time and money being injected into the development of our processes. Our Offices are located in Jolimont, Perth, Western Australia and Frenchs Forest in Sydney, New South Wales.
